The San Francisco Chronicle:

  • Front Page “S.F. HOMELESS PROJECT: Centers appear to be working”: Navigation Centers for people that suffer from persistent homelessness have proven helpful in San Francisco and in other U.S. cities. Although more costly and time intensive, they offer unwavering support to those that require extra assistance.
  • Front Page “Supes panel puts roadblock in front of Tasers”: Supervisors Sandra Lee Fewer, Malia Cohen and Norman Yee removed funding for police tasers from the city budget (Catherine Stefani and Jeff Sheehy voted against the cut). More information on the true costs of the tasers is being requested before committing to the expenditure.
  • Front Page “Harris’ ICE stance a fault line for Dems”: Senator Kamala Harris thinks ICE should be reconsidered from scratch after citing poor treatment of migrants. Positions among Democrats on the ICE agency vary and may cause discord in the party.

News from The San Francisco Chronicle:

  • Front Page – Two rock climbers in their 40’s fell to their deaths in Yosemite. There’s concern that “speed climbing” and sponsored climbers are making the sport more dangerous (1,839 climbing deaths since 1905).
  • Front Page – San Francisco Supervisor London Breed leads former State Senator Mark Leno in the ranked-choice mayoral election (by 1,580 votes, 50.38% to 49.62%). The final tally is expected later today.
  • Business Report – Valve Corp. announced that it will “allow everything” on their Steam gaming platform except content it finds to be “illegal, or straight-up trolling”. The issue of censoring games on the platform came about because of games like “Active Shooter” and “Suicide Simulator”. Some of the more offensive titles have been removed from Steam.

Setup Coveralls for pypeerassets! Now the README has a cute “coverage badge”.

Cleaned the Kitchen 🙂

Added a DNS lookup, TCPClient and NewConnection to WinPrime. It populates a ListBox in the Network Tab with IP Addresses of potential Primecoin Nodes. Now I have to figure out how to “talk” to them.

He instead appointed former IMF official Carlo Cottarelli to run a politically neutral government.

I’ve been playing Diablo III for the first time. It’s a very pretty game and I like collecting equipment but there’s not much of a challenge to it. Like wandering through a grim fairy tale while constantly clicking. Maybe someday I can replay it on higher difficulty 🙂

Jogged a couple of laps. Did a little yoga.
